Anise is one of the oldest products known and consumed mainly in Mediterranean countries, since the plant from which it comes (Pimpinella anisum) was introduced here by the Arabs from the East.
It is a typical Christmas drink and is also used to make cakes or dried figs, and to make Hierbas mallorquinas.
It is distilled in centennial stills and its process lasts more than 15 hours.
